If one of your New Year's resolutions was to lose weight a lead a more active lifestyle you don't need to get all extreme about it and start running marathons or lifting heavy weights at an extreme pace. It's best to take baby steps at first such as signing up for a gym membership or going for walks around your Toronto lofts after dinner. Starting and, more importantly, maintaining an active lifestyle doesn't mean you have to rush out and do the most extreme and physical activity you can think of. Becoming more physically active in the hopes of losing weight or becoming healthier is an attainable goal if you don't set lofty standards for yourself. If you want to lose 50 pounds don't tell yourself you have to do it all in one shot. What's wrong with losing 2.5 pounds a week for 20 weeks instead of 10 pounds a week for 5 weeks? If all you want to do is be more active then start doing simple activities that you know you will keep doing. When you look at being active as something fun rather than a chore you'll be more inclined to do it and that's the key of leading a more active lifestyle!
